Reliance Launched JioPhone a 4G Feature Phone at an Effective Price of Zero

There is no doubt that Reliance Jio has already captivated the telecom industry in India by offering free voice calls and data, and after its huge success it is ready to rule the phone market also.

Company's chairman Mr. Mukesh Ambani, the richest person of India announced the launch of 4G feature phone "Jio Phone" today, 21st July 2017, at the 40th annual general meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries, which he described as an affordable feature phone loaded with smartness of smartphones.This phone is surely going to bring a huge makeover of telecom sector as its going to offer lifelong free voice call along with 4G data streaming at "effective price of zero".

In addition, Jio phone will be a 4G LTE device that will support 24 Indian languages.It will be fully Made in India phone at zero effective cost, compared to other smartphones costing between Rs.3000 to Rs.4500.

In order to prevent misuse of the offer, customers will be required to pay an amount of Rs.1500 as security deposit that would be fully refundable after 3 years.

As said by Mr. Ambani, "Every young Indian should have access to information at his fingertips and that is what the Jio Phone enables". Also he said that he is declaring digital freedom for all feature phone users starting this year. The Jio phone will be available for user testing in beta mode from 15th August 2017 and pre-booking will start from August 24.

"Jio phone will make the 2G feature phone obsolete," Mukesh Ambani claimed, adding that the company has planned to make 5 million phones available to the market every week. Ambani also said that out of 78 crores phones in India, there are more than 50 crore feature phones that cannot be used for internet and data usage. Jio Phone will provide "affordable" device to these users and will "End the digital exclusion in India"

Reliance Jio phone users can use unlimited voice, data and sms’s for a monthly plan of Rs.153 only. The company is also planning to offer a weekly and two-day plan for Rs.54 and Rs.24 respectively with same benefits.
